Key Features

DVCPRO Recording with Consumer DV Playback

With many sophisticated editing functions, the deck is made for professional use under harsh field conditions. But the AJ-LT85 also plays back consumer DV recorded cassettes, large and small. The deck will only play back DV recorded in SP mode.

Multi-Event Editing For Maximum Efficiency

Operators will choose one of the decks as a player, the other as the recorder. The total unit makes insert and assemble editing fast and precise. The machine stores 100 events (in and out points) for tremendous assemble edit convenience. In insert edit mode, the video, two audio channels and time code channels can be selected independently.

On-Screen Display of Edit Decision Lists

During multi-event editing, the AJ-LT85 can display the EDL on the monitor for easy checking. The on-screen display also makes it easier to adjust many edit related settings.

Powerful Audio Edit Modes

In insert edit mode, you can add audio with the microphone input built into the AJ-LT85. Split edits where the video and audio tracks have been shifted can be done using either the video to the audio as the reference. Swap audio edits let you interchange and record two audio source channels.

Time Code Reader with Tape Remaining Time Display

Each side of the AJ-LT85 has its own SMPTE time code reader generator. Frame accurate edits are possible with precise time code in and out points. The machine also performs control track edits and the time code generator can be switched to display the tape remaining time.

RS-422 Interface with Analog Component In and Out

Each of the two VTRs built into the AJ-LT85 is equipped with composite video in and out, audio in and out, analog component output and an RS-422 machine control port. The AJ-LT85 is a full edit system that also provides camera recording and dubbing. If you connect another RS-422 deck to VTR1, the AJ-LT85 can control that outboard machine and edit video and audio to the VTR2 side.

Time Code In and Out for Synchronized Production Systems

The AJ-LT85 is equipped with time code ports in and out. This feature allows you to sync time code throughout multiple time code machines.
